We held 2nd cycling event in Shizuoka city.

Hello, Welcome to my blog!

I am Hirokane Ishikaki at Local Travel Partners, Inc in Shizuoka city, Japan.

In this blog, we mainly show our cycling events around this city.

Do you know Shizuoka city?

Shizuoka city is situated halfway between Tokyo and Nagoya.
It takes only 1 hour  by Hikari super express from JR Tokyo station.

On October 2nd, we had held "Shizuoka slowly cycling trip".

This photo was taken at the Strawberry road,(route 150).

Thank you for your participation! (15 participants)
The members: Japanese, Chinese,  Brazilian.

Do you notice the man in classical style and classical bike?

We had planned to go Mizumiiro area, (mountain area) but
because of the rain, we changed the course.

These are our rental bikes.
All bikes are cross bikes. Very comfortable for long cycling.
Easy to ride than road bikes!

At 07:45 we gathered at Sarry's Cafe near the Mochimune Fish Port.

The chief guide: Mr.Yono.

He describes how to fit the saddle.

In order to get used to the rental biike, we practiced in Mochimune coast.
Safety road. No cars here.  Oh, rain, please stop.

Along the Abe River. Slow cycling.
Rain did not stop.

Taking a rest under the Abe-kawa bridge.
The support car gave us raincoats, ponchos.

We decided to stop cycling to MIzumiiro (mountain area)
because of the rain.

We started cycling to Miho, Kuno-zan area.(along the Suruga Bay cycling road)

Taking a rest at convenience store.

What are you talking about? (*^^*)

(the national treasure)

Can you see the "Torii"(the white gate of the shrine)
There are 1,159 steps from here to the shirine.

This time we did not climb. Because all of the members prefer to
cycling than climbing.

Oh...! His bicycle was punk.
He quickly replaced the bicycle tube.

Go along route 150.
If the weather was good, I think we could see the Mt.Fuji.

We were cycling in the 5 or 6 of the team for the safety ride.
Slowly cycling.

We use hand signs for the safety cycling.
"Turn left".

After 42 kilometers cycling.
We came back to Sarry's Cafe.
Nice smile~ (*^^*)

Cheers!!! We are so hungry.

Thank you for your participation!

We are planning to hold the cycling to Mizumiiro again.
Let me introduce it in this blog in the near future.

Enjoy cycling in Shizuoka

Hello, Welcome to my blog!

Today, I want to write about the past cycling event  to
the Utsunoya Pass in Shizuoka city.

(This is continued from my last blog)

From here, Utsunoya(宇津ノ谷) Pass. We cycling the hill.

Green mountain & Blue sky. And uphill….(^^;

Look at the lady wearing a pink shirt.
The chief guide is helping her to climb this slope by pushing her back.

This is Taisho Tunnel.

Taking a rest for a while. Hey guys are you OK?

Oh, We climb up this slope?  Yes…!

We climbed!
This is the Meiji Tunnel. Old tunnel that is not used now.
Very mysterious place.
It is well known as the first toll tunnel in Japan.

Some of the members said we should not take photos here.
Scared….

So I said "Smile and ghost gone." Nice smile.

Inside of the tunnel. So cool!

Are you OK?
I would like to keep wine bottles here and hold a party.!(^^)!

Through the tunnel. There is rest place and a map around here.

The old village of Utsunoya(宇津ノ谷).
Now we moved to ancient village.

We can enjoy the view of ancient village here.
We walk not cycling here.

Next, Nishikawa farm (Note: open on  Sunday)

Do you know Jabuticaba? Brazilian grape.
We can enjoy this fruit picking here. Very rare place!

There were some Brazilian participants in this cycling event.
"Oh, Jabuticaba, after a long time!"

After taking a rest, we started cycling again.

This is Chojiya. An old established restaurant.

This is Chojiya drawn by a famous Ukiyo-e artist
Hiroshige Utagawa in 19th century.

Go along Mariko River cycling path.

We came back to Mochimune fishing port!

Enjoyable lunch time with all the participants at Sarry's Cafe.
There are shower room for cyclists or runners.
