Cycling in a Local Area of Shizuoka/on 5th November,2017

Hello, Welcome to our blog!

We are a travel agency in Shizuoka City, Japan.

I am Hirokane the manager of this company.

Today, I would like to introduce  our cycling event that we held on 5th November, 2017.

This blog post is continued from my last blog post.


We started this cycling trip at 8:00 am from Mochimune Fish Port.
We visited Mochimune Beach, crossed the Ocean Bridge, and cycled 
along the Mariko River,
We stopped at the old traditional Chojiya Restaurant,and reached 
We returned from there.


Inside the tunnel. 
It was so mysterious. The air was so cool.


Autumn leaves on the road.


Next, we visited Nishikawa Farm.


The man on the right is Mr. Nishikawa the owner of this farm.
They are growing "Jabutikaba" on this farm.
Do you know this fruit?


This is the fruit of Jabutikaba.
This fruit is from South America.


As you can see, this fruit grows directly on the trunk of the tree.


Jabutikaba Juice!  It was very refreshing and tasty.
Especially for us thirsty people after cycling.


Thank you for making us delicious juice!


Oh, pretty car! 
This car is not a decoration. You can use it.


On the farm, space is provided for relaxation.
A nice spot to enjoy tea time.


Nishikawa-San, Thank you for your warm hospitality!
On this farm you can also experience pizza-baking on request.


We are riding back to Mochimune Fishing Harbor
 along the Mariko River Cycling road.


Now we came back to Sarry's Cafe in Mochimune.


Funny lunch time with the members of the day at Sarry's Cafe!

One of them came back to his hometown(Shizuoka)
and they went cycling together.

Held a cycling event to enjoy viewing plum gardens and a meal at a long established restaurant.

Hello, Welcome to our blog.

We are a travel agency in Shizuoka City that can

Today, I would like to introduce our last cycling event 
held on February 26th 2017.


14 members including 3 ladies.
 Let's get started!


Lecture on how to change bicycle gears for better road safety.

Along the Abekawa River.
It is safe because no cars are running.


We crossed several bridges along the river.
South Abekawa Bridge, Shizuoka Big Bridge,
Suruga Big Bridge, JR line Bridge.

 
Arrived at Tokeiin Temple 
Hatori, Aoi ward Shizuoka City.
Plum blossoms were about 70% blooming.



We enjoyed viewing plum trees and took a rest for a while.

Next, we headed to Mariko area to have lunch.
Mariko was one of the old stations along the Tokaido Route
during the Edo Era.



This is a famous ukiyo-e (Japanese wood block print)/1830
Ancient travelers had lunch at Chojiya


This restaurant is still loved
by the local people and travelers.
It has stood there since 1596.


We were so hungry. We enjoyed delicious Tororo Jiru.


In order to enjoy the old atmosphere of the city,
we pushed our bicycles along and walked.


Along Mariko River. 


We reached Shiroyama Plum garden.
These plum trees were planted by students of Shiroyama
junior high school near here.


Next, climbing Shiroyama.
A little bit hard for me after 30 kilometer's cycling.(^^;


We reached the top!
This is Mochimune Castle ruins.
Nice view of Shizuoka City and Suruga Bay.


We cycled for 32 kilometers.

If the weather condition is good, we can enjoy
beautiful sceneries of Mt.Fuji from there.


JR Line and Tomei Highway are meeting each other.

Cycling along Warashina River to Mizumiiro area in Shizuoka.


Hello, Welcome to my blog!
I am HIrokane at Local Travel Partners in Shizuoka CIty.

We had held the 3rd Shizuoka Bicycle Burari Tabi (slow pace cycling)
on 20th, Nov.



The weather was pretty good.
We enjoyed 46km cycling from Sarry's Cafe near the
 Mochimune Fish Port to Mizumiiro area (beautiful scenery of mountain, 
green tea field)

We gathered at 7:45 am and introduced ourselves.


Bicycle saddle O.K?


He is the chief guide, Yono-san.


On the South Abekawa bridge.
Mt. Fuji could be seen clearly !


Go along Abe Riverbed. Safety and comfortable.

We passed under the 3 bridges.
Shizuoka Ohashi(=big bridge), Suruga Ohasni(=big bridge),
Abekawa bridge.

And at the Anzai bridge, we entered a general road.


Arrived at Tokeiin temple.





About 2 kilometers north from route 362.(=Warashina street)
Very quiet and calm place.


Tokeiin temple is known with its beautiful scenery of 
plum garden in spring.

There are not enough parking space, so I recommend you to
visit here by bicycle.

       鳥瑟沙摩明王(うすさまみょうおう)=Ususama Myo-ou

When we get old in the future, we hope to use toilet by ourselves
(without other person's help)

If you have a chance to visit here, please remember to pray for
this god of toilet.


After a brake, we started cycling again!


We are approaching Mizumiiro.
Green tea field was so beautiful.


But, Uphill slope was serious….(^^;


Blue display 「水見色」 Finally we arrived Mizumiiro area.


Arrived at Mizumiiro Kiraku ichi!


We did it!  Feel so good~! Too hot.


Shaved Ice in November!
It was so delicious!(^^)!

Now we are going back to Sarry's cafe. Downhill.


Maybe they are waiting for me. 💦
